Covid and writing (and a cat)

It is a strange thing to admit to, but with all the time in the world during lockdown I have not been writing as much as I thought I would. Been writing some poetry - and I finished a draft of a book that I started way before lockdown - but other than that nothing to show for it.

No excuses, no reasons just have not found myself ready to write. Have had many thoughts of writing a sequel to my first two books - The Butterfly Heart and The Sleeping Baobab - but they have remained just that. Thoughts.

So the purpose of this post is to say it out loud in the hope that it spurs me on to actually getting down to writing. I am enjoying trying my hand at poetry - there is something about the focus of the form that I like. But it is still all very new to me, so I am feeling my way through it.

I am posting some of them on my other site, Ohthethinksyoucanthink (with thanks to the inimitable Dr Seuss).

Many more weeks and possibly months of lockdown - let me see if this gets me to doing what I should be doing!
